Windstar Cruises
Windstar Cruises, which promotes its cruise experience under the banner of "casual elegance," provides a far different experience that Windjammer Barefoot Cruises. The sails on all three of Windstar's tall ships are computerized and not necessary for navigation or power -- but when the motors are silenced and the ships slice through the sea under sail, the romance of sailing is very much there. The dress aboard Windstar is similar to what you would expect to find at the country club, and the exceptional cuisine and service aboard the sleek ships are the equal of a fine resort as well. The Wind Surf is far larger than her twin sisters, capable of hosting 312 cruisers compared to 148 for the Wind Spirit and Wind Star. But all three have modern staterooms and suites, and provide the expected amenities.
