| Star Clippers' three magnificient sailing ships are among the largest and fastest clipper ships ever built. The Star Clipper and Star Flyer, introduced just over a decade ago, have four towering masts and 16 sails, and each carries 170 guests. The five-masted Royal Clipper, launched in 2000, is the largest clipper ship built in a century and carries 170 guests. Flexibility is the watchword for cruisers on these ships, for the wind plays a key role in when you arrive and depart from the ports on your itinerary. These ships fall in between the Windjammer and Windstar experiences -- more upscale than Windjammer, but lacking the emphasis on elegance and fine cuisine of Windstar. | ||
