| Carnival-at-a-Glance |
| Carnival Cruise Lines is by far the largest cruise line, currently with 22 ships. And the line's slogan, "The Fun Ships," pretty well does capture the virtually non-stop-activities-and-entertainment ambiance of Carnival's ships. While the ships attract a younger crowd that likes to party (the discos are always crowded), Carnival cruises also are favored by families with young children. The new Conquest class vessels are slightly larger than the older Destiny class ships, but are more spacious carrying fewer passengers (3,000 compared to 3,300) and offer more glitz (if possible). The new Spirit class ships are somewhat smaller, but are viewed by many cruisers as more luxurious. Carnival's earlier ships -- the Holiday class ships -- tend to be favored by travelers on a tight budget. |
